Flipboard is a great app for your iPhone and iPad that displays news from categories that you choose. I'm a news and information junkie and that's probably what I spend most of time doing on my computer. I've used Ziteon my phone and like it a lot but I was truly impressed with Flipboard. The layout is wonderful as is the ease of use and it's quite an amazing thing to virtually flip through the news on your iPad, and also kind of weird that as we move farther and farther from print media I find myself drawn toward the apps that resemble it the most.
You can also grab your own Facebook or Twitter feed or by searching you can get others dropped in there too.
What's great about it also is you can customize it a bit by clicking on the search icon and typing in what you want. For example, I typed in Tour de France and it showed me I could add a bicycling magazine. Pretty cool. That's the one feature that Zite doesn't have. I can only imagine it looks great on the iPad with the higher resolution screen.
Update: Where have you been all my life, Flipboard. Now there are more updates including integration with Readability. Also, you can link your Facebook account and your newsfeed will show up in Flipboard in a nice, glossy looking format.
