Free Math Sites

Even though I teach English Language Arts I often think I should've been a Math teacher. I love numbers and what they represent and the linear thinking, plus there are tons of iPad apps and websites that are devoted to Math. One cool site I came across on FreeTech4Teachers.com is called Math Playground and I've been playing around with it lately seeing what it can do.

Not only can you access content that is based on the Common Core standards but there are also more than a handful of Math games that kids will love. Most of them are Flash-based so they won't work on an iPad but there are four free iPad apps that help students at the elementary and middle school level that give students blocks to interact with in order to solve Math problems. They can also add labels, turn on/off a grid, and change colors of the blocks to add more depth.
