I've had a blast finding apps to use in my classroom for the iPad Pilot. Here are a few I can't wait to try out with my kiddos, plus, they're all FREE:
- Miracle Modus - mathematically patterned rainbows that help you relax and sit still
- Easy Chart - Simply, beautiful charts
- Math with Friends - Like Words with Friends/Scrabble
- Tinkerbox - If you can imagine it you can build it, puzzle physics game
- Science Glossary - Science words defined
- NASA - coolest outer space app
- This Day in History - Find out what happened on this day in history
- World Countries - information on all of the countries in the world
- Count to Ten - Learn the numbers 1-10 in ten different languages
- Groovemaker Free - create your own music by mixing beats and loops
- Dragon Dictation - speak into your microphone and see your text appear
- Puppet Pals HD - similar to Toontastic, create your own animations
- Total Recall - another mind-mapping app like Idea Sketch and Simple Mind+
- Noteable - sticky notes
- Scratchwork - ScratchWork allows you to take notes and browse the web while having the two side by side to avoid back and forth flipping. It also provides a custom math keyboard.
- Headspace Lite - cool, beautiful mind-mapping app
- Traffic Light! - use this for informal assessments for kids to show their level of understanding
