MindMaps

I like to use mind maps with my students because it helps them to brainstorm and also gives them a visual way to represent their writing and concepts that I hope makes different pathways in their brain that in turn helps learning. On the iPad I like the Big Mind app but I read recently on FreeTech4Teachers about a website called MindMup that does mind mapping and does it very well.

Some of the cool features of MindMup is that after you create your mind map you can save it to your Google Drive account, save it locally to your computer, or publish it online. Students can use it without creating an account and if the mind maps are published online then others can go in and collaborate on the same mind map. Great, free service.
